He came with his buddy Edmund and the two of them quickly became invaluable members of our team.<\/p>\n<p>Why &#8211; he was meticulous, responsible and willing to learn, but also, since he was fresh out of National Service, he was ripped!<\/p>\n<p>Slowly, we learned XianJie had a pretty voracious appetite and he also grew out a real MOP of hair, the likes of which have not been seen since. And he also had a penchant for Neon-coloured souvenir dive T-shirts.<\/p>\n<p>Jacki&#8217;s version of Xianjie in two words: &#8220;Cool Nerd&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"one-third-last\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1640\" src=\"https:\/\/ada.asia\/wp-content\/uploads\/dma-xianjie-award.jpg\" alt=\"ADA DMAs\" width=\"90%\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"space20\"><\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<div class=\"space20\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"two-third\">\n<h3>A Quick Interview<\/h3>\n<p class=\"highlight\">((As Interviewed by Monica- My comments in parenthesis))<\/p>\n<h6>Where are you now and what are you doing?<\/h6>\n<p>I am currently studying for my Engineering degree at Cambridge University, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p class=\"highlight\">((See, COOL NERD))<\/p>\n<div class=\"space20\"><\/div>\n<h6>What did you like best about your time with ADA?<\/h6>\n<p>I had some time between finishing National Service and enrolling in university and was looking for something fun to do for ~8 months. I did my Open Water and Advanced Open Water course with Gill Divers and found out that they had job opportunities, so I signed up with Edmund to work as DMAs for ADA.<\/p>\n<p>I would say that learning about diving was one of the major perks of working with ADA. I got to dive with seasoned instructors who taught me invaluable lessons that made me a better diver. One of my best experiences so far and I highly recommend it to anyone to do a few dives there. The scenery and diverse landscapes in Iceland are magnificent and absolutely stunning.<\/p>\n<div class=\"space20\"><\/div>\n<h6>Any other words of wisdom?<\/h6>\n<p>Work hard, play hard!<\/p>\n<p class=\"highlight\">((It was great catching up with you my padawan, thank you letting me grab some of your photos from facebook.
